Mom visits and week 32 pic

My mom came to Chicago a couple weeks ago and we had a great weekend. With moving I hadn't gotten around to uploading the pics but here are just a few of us at Navy pier. The last one is a pic of me at 32 weeks-only 8 more weeks to go!! He is moving around a lot lately it seems anytime that I sit down, so I'm trying to stay active:) Doctors appt. tomorrow and my last weekend of freedom before school (staff development) starts on Monday. The summer goes by so fast but I am ready to meet the little guy, so Im not sure I mind it moving so fast:)

Week 28 updates from the Doc.....

I had my checkup today and all is well with baby and me. My gestational diabetes test came back negative and the doctor said that I am measuring perfectly. I was being paranoid cause everyone I tell that I am 6 months says "What! you are barely showing!", but my doctor assures me that I am measuring perfect and that everything is fine. Everyone carries different and because I'm tall and have strong abdominal muscles (who knew?) that I am not showing as much as other women. I am feeling anxious about a lot which I guess is normal too, I think its cause I am off work and all I do is think about this little guy! Ben keeps telling me to relax (he is so laid-back!-which I guess is a good balance for us:) so I am working on relaxing more and taking it day by day. One less thing to worry about-we found an apartment! Such a relief and we decided to stay in Chicago which I am excited about:)

Law and Eric's wedding

This weekend we went to one of my dearest friends-Lawerence's wedding in Petosky, MI. It was a wonderful time, and I know it doesn't directly have to do with baby Barrett but here are some pics of the baby Barrett bump:) So happy for Law and Eric-we love you guys!

Surprise baby shower!

So my wonderful friend from work-Ashley invited me to a bridal show with her and I said "sure, I'll go to a bridal shower?" She is getting married and she said its on a riverboat downtown. I was more than happy to support her and go on a riverboat-for sure! So on our way there she said she had to pick up the tickets and then once we got to the restaurant (??) she said "Its not a bridal show, its your baby shower!" I was so happily surprised and shocked! We had brunch and did presents at one of my favorite brunch places-Jane's. Some girls from work joined and we had a great time. I wish I would have brought my camera but I wasn't aware of the event....so I took some pics of my belly that day and one of Ben with some of the presents I received:) Thank you so much to my work friends-I am so thankful to work with each one of you!

24 weeks and counting!

Just a update our baby boy is just over a pound this week. He is almost a foot long (a ear of corn). Im still not really showing all that much. He is sitting pretty low too cause I feel him moving around all the time:)
